Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls

The Holidays are all about traditions for our family.

We love picking our tree at the same place each year, decorating the tree with Christmas music, holiday baking, playing cards, epic snack, snuggling watching hallmark movies, a season of giving and helping others, advent calendars…even that darn elf on the shelf…our kids love Sarah Star. This season is pure magic and I love everything about it.

One of the things I bake each year is Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls. They are a hit with everyone and they freeze really. I like to bake them when I am in the mood and save them for when company comes, potluck parties, or even Christmas day.

All of my lovely IG and FB friends shared they would love this recipe so I am really happy to share this holiday tradition and recipe with all of you.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all natural peanut butter (could use almond butter as well)

  • 1 cup of butter

  • 4 cups icing sugar

  • 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal

  • 2-4 cups chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Melt peanut butter and butter together in a large microwave safe bowl (2 minutes) or in a pot on the stove (If you use the stove once mixture in melted transfer to large bowl).

  2. In large bowl stir to combine butter and peanut butter mixture evenly. Add in icing sugar and Rice Krispies and stir to combine mixture. I like to slowly add 1 cup at a time to make it easier to mix. Once mixture is mixed place bowl in fridge for 30 minutes so the “dough” can harden.

  3. Remove dough from fridge and roll into 1-inch balls. If dough is still too sticky place back in fridge. Once you have all balls rolled out melt chocolate on a pot of stove or in the microwave for 2 1/2 minutes and stir well.

  4. Dip peanut butter balls into chocolate and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Once tray is filled place in freezer for 1 hour. Transfer to air-tight container and store in freezer until ready to enjoy!
