Why I think we need to ditch the labels and just eat in a way that feels healthy for our own bodies.
Don't get me wrong I am all for people choosing a healthy eating lifestyle that works for them, but the one thing I have noticed through my years in the field is that these labels and trends come and go. Hello zone diet, atkins, south beach??? Ring a bell anyone?
I have ALWAYS been a big fan of plain old healthy eating. But this doesn't sell, it's not catchy and no one every says "I am following the healthy eating diet". We are so screwed up with the overwhelm of "health" information that we don't even know what healthy eating is anymore. People also love to jump on board with the next big thing. I get it, it sells. I am not trying to be pessimistic here, I know that there are people out there that have it figured out and LOVE that...but the reality is that I work with thousands of people who struggle with food their weight and the way they feel in their bodies.
